Website accessibility
We want anyone to be able to read about a procedure, find our address, and get in touch — whatever they use to browse.
This site aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. That standard is what the Section 508 and ADA guidance for health care providers points to, and it is what we test against.
What we have done
- Every page can be operated with a keyboard alone, and the element you are on is always visibly outlined.
- A skip link is the first thing on every page, so you are not tabbing through the navigation on each one.
- Images that carry information have written descriptions; images that are decorative are hidden from screen readers rather than described pointlessly.
- Headings are properly ordered, so you can move through a page by heading rather than reading all of it.
- Text and background colours were checked against the WCAG 2.1 AA contrast thresholds across the site, at the size and weight each is actually rendered.
- The site reflows to a phone screen without sideways scrolling.
- Forms label every field, describe every error, and never rely on colour alone to tell you something is wrong.
Where we know we fall short
The site’s own wordmark is a scanned trace rather than a drawn vector, so it softens at small sizes. Some clinical diagrams convey their meaning through shape and position; each has a text description beside it, but the diagram itself is not navigable.
Documents linked from this site that we did not produce — insurer forms, for example — may not meet the same standard. Ask us and we will read one to you or send it in another format.
